Nice. When are you going to start rewiring it?:) Does that mean you'll be visiting another BB page? We don't need to lose anymore people on this one. Nice car Don! Is it yours yet? Henry |

Do it. I had an '81 FI model and drove the wheels off the thing. Wish I still had it. Maroon w/ tan int. |

It is a 80 TR 7 that has been completly changed to an 8. Is impossible to see the difference. Am trying to get prices to have it transported from Tenn. to Seattle. Here is a discription. I have decided to sell one of my remaining two TR8's. This car is actually a TR7 which has been converted to full TR8 specification, essentially using a wrecked TR8 as a donor car so it is 100% correct TR8 down to the last bracket. The body is rust free with good paint and a new top. There is one minor dent near the drivers door handle which a firm like Dent Wizard could easily take care of. The interior is in decent condition although the floor carpets are not currently fitted. I have a set of original molded carpets in fair condition which will go with the car and just need a good clean. The tires are good. The engine is the stock 3.5 Rover V8 with a custom multipoint GM based fuel injection system installed. I will supply the stock carburettors & emission parts for the sake of posterity. All the a/c components are intact & installed although the system is not charged. The car currently has a 3.45 rear axle fitted (gives snappier acceleration), but I will also supply the stock 3.08 axle assembly as part of the deal. |

Don, Where in TN. MIght be a worthwhile journey to deliver it to you!! Expenses and plane fare home might be cheaper than shipping!! Assuming that it'd make the trip?!?! db |

If it was that easy I would do it myself. the car has been in storage and has not been driven a lot lately. He has a couple of others and drives those.. So he does not think it would be wise to drive it 2300 miles with out a decent shake down. I have gotten quotes from $984 to $2500 to ship it.If it does go by currier I will still have to ship the extra rear back separately.i would love a summer cruise in a convertible to end my summer, Also I am busier than all get out at work and would be hard pressed to find time. thanks for the offer though. |

Don: You need to ask? Buy it! Consider it just one more of life's little triumphs. Cheers, Bob 1976 - TR6 |

bought it just waiting to get it shipped. |

Don, my offer still stands:-) db |

Doug, As I said I would take you up on your offer if i was assured by the owner that the car could handle the trip. It hasn't run steady in over 2 years since it was stored. The shipping cost will be about $1100.00 He is putting in the 3.08 rear and the new carpets now and hopefully it will be picked up on the 1st Don |

Don, Have 'em drop it in Boise, I'll meet you with it in Yakima! Rod |

As of 9/7 the car is still in TN. It was suppose to have been picked up last week end but the transport picked up a car that was heavier than stated. So mine didn't get picked. Suppose to be today. I did finally get photos of the interior. Boy is it dirty from storage. First thing, detail shop. |
DON KELLY |
Don, Be sure to post some photos as soon as she arrives. db |

Don Steve P answered that question to me on The engine stand thread on August 20th. Trust a guy from patato country to make a wedge comment........ Darn Rod, you beet me to it;) Enjoy your new ride Don but keep workin' on the 6. Good thing you built a big garage. Now you can say.." see honey, I told you the bigger garage would come in handy". Don, Did it show up yet???? Rod |
Rod Nichols |
It is here. Along story short. It runs like a bat out of H>>>. A couple of issues. Missing some trim pieces. Probably happened when it got repainted. The old fuel in it is causing some idle problems, boy did my garage stink for a while, and has coded an IAC code. Need to check that out. The front interior carpets are on the way but I think I'm going to invest in a Magic Carpet interior for it. I just finished washing it for the first time, weather has been lousy. I will go take a few pictures and post them. |

After sitting for a couple of years the clutch slave threw up. I rebuilt the master and replaced the slave and filled with silicon fluid. I took it on its first excursion this morning, about 20 miles each way. Gobs of power, brakes a"little" spongy (old lady in a Sienna mini van pulled out right in front of me and I had to stand on them). The fuel injection needs a little work and the temp ,twice climbed to the 3/4 mark and the check engine light came on. Stayed that way for about 30 seconds and then dropped back to just below 1/2. My wife was impresses, she was a little leary of such a long shake down cruise. BOY WAS IT FUN |

Hi Don, I drove a friends TR7 (4 cyl) this summer and I did like the extra room inside, the car drives fine and handled good...I was susprisingly impressed. Enjoy yours! Charlie |
