Already been thinking about the Weber trip manifold with 6 ITB's.

Don Kelly

Your own design or is someone manufacturing these.

Made by Extrudabody in Florida

Very cool Don. Now all you need to do is get her started and on the road.

PS your moustache has gotten a little longer Don.

It seems I got a problem with my ITB's the throttles are very stiff.
The prev. owner had them sitting in his garage for a while and I think it gummed up the works.
Don Kelly

Don,
Try some aerokroil. If you don't have any, advise. I'll send a thimbleful or so!!

Looking for a fuel pump filter assembly that is side by side.
Don Kelly

Kind of along these lines?

SteveP1

Steve,
Are those on your -6? Where?
db
Doug Baker

Got one of them I am trying to sell.
Need an in line for a fuely with a filter.

Doug, you want mine?

Don Kelly

Looks like I'll end up spending the money for this with a Walbro style pump and a matching filter

Don Kelly

Doug,

They are mounted to the LH boot wall, what is pictured is the initial set up which was changed somewhat later on (no pictures of that at this time). The inner boot body panel has a formed pan to stiffen it up, a mounting pad was made to fill in a part of that pan and provide a solid surface against the back side of the trim panel. It was rough machined, then hand finished to contour and thickness needed. The brackets for the pump and filter are fitted to the mount pad through the trim panel and then the components mounted to the brackets.

Plumbing from the tank was done by boring an AN919-7D flared reducer fitting to 3/8" (aka -6), machining away the flare from the -5 end and threading the -5 end of the fitting into the fuel tank and running -6 lines and fittings everywhere else in the fuel system. A fuel line was fabricated from 321 CRES tube stock and flared to mate with the AN919 and the shutoff valve (see picture) that pokes through an exisiting body work penetration. The washers for the shutoff consist of one wide flange washer and a second washer machined from cut outs of plate stock from the RHD 914-6 project transmission mounts (lots of special fitted washers were made from those cut outs) to hard locate the valve in the body work penetration.

What is different from the picture is that the AN fittings between the pump and filter were removed and replaced with section of solid pipe that had been threaded to fit the components. The filter outlet (red capped end) was initially fitted with a hose with flared fittings, but that was pulled and a another pipe segment was formed and flared (let's just politely say that I "expanded" my vocabulary on that much tighter packaging and harder to form and flare as a result), then connected to an AN bulkhead fitting at the boot trim panel with a flared flex line connecting to yet another bulkhead fitting with large flat and another of those machined step washers as a hard locator to exit from the body work and then formed and flared tube run along the frame rail in the stock position up to the engine compartment where flex lines are picked up again for the balance of the fuel line run.

Don,

I had figured that the pump was a no go from your set up, low pressure - high volume isn't what you need, just thought the basic layout might be something of interest to you.

SteveP1

Steve,
That sure sounds like an awful lot of aviation qualified plumbing!!

Mines gonna be similar. Gonna have to get a student loan to pay for it
Don Kelly

Sent the ITB's back to the company to check for problems with the butter flys.
Ordered a Walbro pump and am scouring the web for an inline filter I want to use.
Don Kelly

Heard back from the company.
The ITB's I got from eBay are antiques.
He said 1 of the experimental version.
I'm gonna ship everything I got to him and my intake, can't believe that's coming off again, and he will hook me up good.
Will have to be after the holidays as I am Cabo bound for Christmas.
Margaritas under palm trees with Christmas lights.
Nothin says Christmas better than that!
