Triumph TR6 - GROSE JETS

I NEED TO REPLACE MY NEEDLE VALVE ON ONE OF MY ZS CARBS AND THINKING OF TRYING ONE OF THOSE BALL VALVES. HAS ANYONE USED A GROSE JET? WHAT KIND OF FUEL FILTER DO I NEED TO PREVENT DIRT FROM MAKING THE VALVE STICK? I'D LIKE TO HEAR YOUR COMMENTS.
REGARDS,
benji

I've had Grose Jets in my stock TR6 carbs for 10 years now - with absolutely no problems at all. No special fuel filter, but I do change it often.

Some swear they don't work, but from my point of view, they're far superior to the stock valve; which stuck all the time for me.

Benji,
One of the club members (all Brit club) here in Boise just installed Grose jets in a Midget. Say what you might, that motor was built on the verge of being a 'grenade' engine...close to full race. He has an adjustable pressure regulator that goes up to 6 lbs pressure. With a high volume fuel pump, this thing is total overkill. Radial cam, nice lumpy idle....I think you know what I mean! After he installed the Grose jets, he turned the pressure uo tp 6 lbs, told me he wouldn't dare do that with the standard needle and seats, he'd have gas everywhere. I was impressed. I'm probably in line for 'em!

I needed a new needle valve fairly recently. I inquired about grose jets from a local shop and the dealer swore to me that he would never sell one. He said the actual name brand Grose jets are ok, but now a lot of ones out there are not real Grose brand and are not nearly of the same quality. I would say that unless you can be assured the valve is a true Grose, then just go with the standard needle valve.

A regular needle valve works great for me!

I thought everyone has gone with Grose jets?
There are still needle valves out there?
Have had zero problems.

Guys:

Grose jets - got 'em but have been holding off installing them in my "new" Strombergs with the engine rebuild. I had the Strombergs disassembelled and blasted and I have polished them. I'm getting ready to reassemble with the rebuild kits complete with new Grose jets. This should be a nice new engine and I hope to be posting pics over the next couple months.
