MG TD TF 1500 - WTB - TF Water Outlet #AEG123 (two threaded holes)

I'm looking to buy a TF water outlet part #AEG123. It has two threaded holes ... one for the temperature gauge probe, and one with a brass hex plug for a heater fitting.

Outlet #AEG123 and connecting pipe #AEG124, which has a plugged threaded hole for a heater fitting, started with XPEG1001. My engine is XPEG977. It has connecting pipe AEG124, but has the earlier AEG102 water outlet. TFs with engine numbers after XPEG1001 were built on the same day as mine, Sep 23-27, 1954.

It took me four(4) years to find an original cast iron one !! Rare.

I do notice that NTG Services (UK) now have recently produced them
in aluminium I think at 123 pounds. Fair enough.. They letters/numbers
are also cast in similar to the original.

The early TF1500s did not have the two(2) outlets. They had the TF 1250
single outlet.

Ouch. I hope that I can find one before I finished my restoration.

I know that early XPEG engines had the one-hole outlet. The TF Service Parts List says the two-hole started with XPEG1001. I like to believe that it’s feasible that my XPEG977 could have had the two-hole outlet when it left the factory. Engine numbers above and below XPEF1001 were built on the same day as my XPEG977. If the outlets were removed from the engines, then they might have been installed onto the “wrong” engine. At least that’s my story!

If I can’t find an AEG123, then I may not install the heater.

Remember that the two holes have different threads. Heater is British pipe and thermometer is American pipe mix them up at your peril.

My XPEG 654 has the duel outlets, one for the temp gauge and one for the hot water to the heater. It's the original number matching engine. Car build date 12/17/1954 PJ

Would it be possible to clarify what the two pipe threads are. A commonly used pipe thread is 1/2", and both 1/2" BSP and 1/2" NPT have 14 tpi. Perhaps the OD and tpi of the threads can be supplied.

The BSP threads use a 55 degree Vee while the NPT threads are 60 degrees. In addition the BSP-1/2 thread has an OD of 0.825" while the NPT-1/2 has an OD of 0.850.
If we are talking about tapered threads these diameters are nominal.

Both series also have straight threads which require a gasket to seal.
