MG TD TF 1500 - Wade / Ventor Supercharger

Anyone have any experience w/ this type of supercharger on a T-Series? There is some discussion of this unit in the Blower manual. It's a very nicely made Rootes type, although exposed driveshaft and leather coupling are a little quaint.

There's a lot of accumulated wisdom on this group about Shorrock, Judson and Marshall blowers, but not much about Wades.

I've actually got one including the installation bits and an uprated drive coupling (Lovejoy type), but before going to all the trouble of installing it I'd like to find out what others' experience has been.

Has this little blower got enough displacement for an XPEG? Can it turn fast enough to huff 6 or 7 lbs into a liter and a half?

Jim,

I've had a lot of people inquiring about Wades lately.
Perhaps this little blower is finally coming into vouge? Except for the diabolical drive setup and odd apperance of the manifolds, this is a excellent little blower that will easily supply a 1.5 Ltr motor with up to 12psi. Good luck with yours.

JM,
There is a small piece of information regarding the Wade blower on pages 144>147 of "Tuning and Maintenance of MG Cars" by Philip H. Smith. (Haynes Publications Inc. ISBN 0 85429 098 2)
Maybe this can be of help ?
Cheers,
Nick, 52TD/63midget.

Yes--the Wade material I've seen is in the Smith manual. It may be in Blower's manual too, but I don't know.
