MG TD TF 1500 - Used Parts

Looking for a good venue to buy/sell used T-Series parts. Ebay is not near what it used to be for TD/TF parts. Where are y'all buying & selling parts?

I think the days of garage shelves stacked with interesting parts and no way to sell them (ie pre-EBay) has now passed; the majority are all sold off!

The best option is to put a 'wanted' message up on boards like this, and some good soul who has parts 'too good to sell to any old buyer, as, you know, someone might want them', is the best hope.

I certainly have two or three parts which I hang on to 'just in case', but should probably sell them off to a serious buyer in more need, if he put up a note.

The TSO of the NEMGTR provides a great opportunity to meet up with folks who know what the parts are and have an idea of what they're worth. Just don't be in a hurry. Bud

Carl. For your interest I do have some new and used "T" series parts for sale . Acquired these parts from a M.G. dealership here in Canada that is no longer in operation. I have included my phone number as well

Fings ain't like they used to be! I have been attending the MG Silverstone event for about 15 years. There used to be dozens of stalls selling all manner of new and used mg parts. There are now more stalls selling mobile phone covers, sports clothing and general bric a brac. I don't know if it's the internet or simply that all older spares have now been used up. How long is since anyone in the UK saw anything older than 5 years in a scrap yard.

Funny this should pop up tonight. I spent the day cataloging and boxing all the parts to build a spare engine if the need arises. I spent the last year collecting and restoring the parts off of EBay. Like Bud said the key is patience and being willing to buy them when they are available and having a goal you want to achieve.

With all the suppliers like Moss, etc there are very few parts you can not buy or have repaired today like fuel pumps, shocks, distributors, etc with the possible exception of engine blocks, brake drums, gauges, and heads. All wear parts are readily available. Some question the quality, Orginality, price or fit but better then parking the car.

Ian. I am in that category. Have had my TD for 42 years and have amassed a number of spares. I part with a few, but a lot of times, I see a request and think "I have one of those that I could let go" then I remember how hard they are to come by and think. Well,I might some day need that part. Or If I sell it, the next owner will get a lot of spares that may be needed.

If parts were still easy to get (or the new ones of better quality), I would probably sell off more.

I recently acquired a large selection of parts from three different small restoration shops in the upper midwest. They had quit the buiness for health and age related problems. I now have more parts then I can use for my projects. Feel free to contact me if you need any TC or TD or TF type parts.
