MG TD TF 1500 - Turn signal relay unit location

I need information as to the original location of the turn signal relay unit which is aluminum, 1 inch in diameter and may be one inch or more in length. It is held in place by a "U" shaped bracket. I know the turn signal switch is located to the bottom of the dash board off center depending on the steering wheel location and the gray box with the 8 wires is located behind the tool box on the inside of the firewall - interior side. So, can anyone who has a '53 TD tell me where the signal relay unit should be located? I would appreciate your inputs. Thank you
Mike

Mike:

My TD, 25939, has the original Lucas turn signal flasher unit, 35010A, attached to the upper bolt of the LH horn which is used to hold the horn to the bracket. This was the location when I got the car in 1967, and the flasher's mfg date indicated it was the one installed on the car when new. The 35010A flasher unit has a tab with a hole in it which is riveted to the closed end of the can.

This isn't exactly the best orientation as the terminal end is upward and mosture can enter the can. However, I've never had any problems with this orientation.
