MG TD TF 1500 - Trans tail housing repair or?

How does one repair a broken tail housing mount? I just realized the trans I'm building has the webbing broke out of it midway through the mounting hole on both sides. I do not have the remnants. Does some one have a good housing spare that they would be willing to part with?

Cheers

>>> Are the tail housings the same for all TDs and TFs? I know that the clutch is larger on TFs than early TDs. I also think that one of the shafts inside is also larger (?)

The webbing on the mount on my TF transmission is broken out, too. My tranny has been resting on the rubber mount with no restraint for a year.

I've been trying to figure the easiest way to fix it. I finally decided, as you, that the best way is to replace the housing. So, if there are two good tail housings floating around, I'm interested in one. I hope to replace the housing before driving to GOF-South in April 2015.

Some fixes have been posted a few times on this and other forums. If you are interested in a fix without replacing the housing, then here are links.

If I can't find an in-tact Rear Casing, then I'll drill and rig a mount for my broken one. Thanks for your pics and outstanding work.

I made this repair with the gearbox IN THE CAR by inverting a 1/4 20 grade 8 bolt as shown above. This fix makes the mount much stronger than the original casting was.
Although I would not recommend it, I very carefully cut a 1/4" hole for the bolt with a cutting torch. I didn't even scorch any visible paint. The only reason I did this repair in the car was that my mount broke the day before I was to leave for a GOF. I took a chance and got lucky.
