MG TD TF 1500 - Thanks Santa

Merry Christmas gentlemen,

I hope everyone had as great a time with their family as I did. Also, Santa was very good to me and the TD this year. I received a stainless exhaust system, a rebuild kit for the SU's, and an oil filter system that looks like the original but with the replacable element inside. I am still hoping to have an initial start up before the end on January. Did anyone else get car presents from Santa?

Rob

p.s. Have a safe New Year!

I got the hi mount luggage rack that I have always wanted.

Happy New Year

Santa brought me nice digital camera-I have a pretty original '53 TD, a restored '59MGA and an original
'58 TR3------let me know if anybody needs a photo of any or all parts of these cars--I would be happy to provide pix if they would help-----

I got a fire extinguisher that is in the right age bracket for my TD ;-)

It is of course empty, and I dont think I would have wanted to have to use it with the poisonous stuff they had in the old days... But it looks great !!

Otherwise, I will definitely get a real one as well, after I read through all the threads on potential fire hazards and real fires that happened and the resulting recommendations on must haves).

Merry Christmas to everyone

Santa is picking up the carb and dizzy rebuild on my MGB and left me with a very nice set of new Craftsmen open sockets. They do not have an end on them so you can slip them over any sized bolt. The ratchet handle fits around the socket. Very nice set.

I was hoping for some M.G. toys...but all I got was an old used car.

Rob,
Yes a Veron ....
what you "see" is what I got.
(a picture of one!)

To bad. I thought you must be the President of Ohio to have a car like that:) I remember seeing and touching a T57 Ventoux when I was a kid back in the 70's. I remember thinking that was the most fantastic car that could ever be. I'm sure that is as close as I will ever get to a Bugatti. I will just have to love my TD that much more.

david too bad you didn't get the car..you could have used it this winter to plow snow... regards, tom

Did you see the guy from Texas with the Veron in the water? He did iton purpose according to his ins. co. they are not paying on the loss.
TOM Maine

Think the guy in Texas is due in court soon for fraud. I read that he borrowed $1m, insured for $2m, but the policy was classic "show & prade functions only". The You-Tube video shows he never hit the brakes, no "bird" ...and he left it running after it hit the water so it trashed the engine.
Wonder how his buddy feels about the loan.
The 4wd would make an awsome snow plow... @ 300MPH!

I got an Eastwood 200lb pressure abrasive blaster from Santa.

A local shop wanted $250 to blast my frame and I decided for that much I could do it myself and still have the blaster when done to boot.

Anyways, next time Little-T leaves the basement it is going to be under his own power.

Happy New Year!

"leaves the basement it is going to be under his own power"
I have this vision of a "T" hillclimbing the basement steps! LOL
Hope there will be a you-tube video.
David Sheward

David, I hadn't thought about it that way but you made me laugh....AGAIN. I may just have to find a model TD and make a you-tube video just for you.

Actually, our home is the result of a 70's ranch style house with a basement, placed on top of a hill; one end (the garage)is completly exposed. Lots of room for toys, 20' boat, wave-runner, 3 cars and Little-T:)

Kind of figured that was the case...just the way my brain works.
(The 60's were hard on the brain cells!)

Not from Sanata, but I gave myself a luggage rack, the high mount one.
