MG TD TF 1500 - TD Master Cylinder Drain Plug

G'day All:
I have ruddy well all but given up on the removal of the circular version M/C drain plug. Heat has not budged it so far and I do not want to, but may have to, damage the part in any serious removal tactics. Therefore; the gist of this communiqué, does anyone have a hex-head style plug they would let go ?
I apologise if this is not the medium to ask such a query.
Respectfully: Jack Emdall, TD# 3191

Jack - if memory serves me, that plug on the back of the cylinder is not really a drain plug and should be left in place. If you are wanting to clean out the master cylinder (and, I imagine, replace the rubber seals as well) I would simply remove brake line and then the two bolts holding the cylinder to the frame - the cylinder comes right out. You would also need to remove one clevis pin for the brake pedal. The top cap removes easily and this should allow you to clean and inspect the interior of the casting.

Hope that makes sense,

Good luck
Jeff

G'day all:
Thanks Jeff (Delk): I was not sure if the plug was meant to be removeable, at least the circular style. However; the hex-head version gave me the impression that it was a vaible action. Cheers for now ten; respectfully:
