MG TD TF 1500 - Switching meter line from head to block

My oil pressure meter line connects to the head, through a banjo bolt. I've looked at the engine drawings and I've read through the archives, and it seems like most people think it is better to take a reading from the block. And there is a great deal of information about the banjo diameters etc - which is somewhat confusing to me, knowing as little as I do about this stuff...
Assuming that my lines are long enough, what are the steps in moving the line to the bottom? Do I just reverse the current setup, switching banjos? What do I need to be aware of?

Geoffrey, just switch the banjo bolts..but as you know, whatever oil pressure you have will remain the same. There is no operational reason to switch the pickup..it is just to appease owners perception.
What you see on the gauge will read 20 psi higher..but the pressure at the lower bolt was always 20 psi higher. The real purpose of having an oil pressure gauge is to note sudden significant changes indicating a need for a quick operator response or gradual long term decrease as an indication of gradual wear to determine engine overhaul time. ..both can be determined from using the upper bolt location for the pressure pick up. I think you are right, Tom. Initially I was concerned because of low pressure readings, my meter sticking and because of my general lack of understanding of the oil system. As I'm learning, I'm no longer so worried, especially as with the oil change I seem to have a good 20 psi base pressure to begin with.
