MG TD TF 1500 - Seat bolt holes

Having finished the floorboards, I have now put the seat back and seats in place. Before drilling the holes for the seats, any thoughts?
I marked and transferred the holes from the old floorboards so I know where the seat USED to be, my question is from the point of comfort (I'm 6' 2") does anybody have any suggestions on positioning?
I've sat in the car and tried different positions and can't really find anything noticeable, and I'm assuming that the farther back I set it the better off I will be.
Just asking for everybody's 2 cents on the issue, before I commit!

If you use the original bolt holes, the seat slides should allow the seats to go fully back against the vertical section of the body in front of the sidescreen box. Therefore no advantage in putting the holes further back (on a TF).

The seat tracks, when mounted in the original positions, will allow the seat bottom and back to push right up to the shelf.

Depending on how keen you are on authenticity, you'll find that a smaller steering wheel makes you a lot more comfortable. Even with the seat fully back your legs will be pretty close to the standard wheel.

I put a 13 inch wheel on mine in 1972, and I've never regretted it. Also, my seat is set up with a little more recline angle, so that my arms are straighter when I drive - the wheel is fully forward on its splines. The pic gives you an idea of the driving position.
