MG TD TF 1500 - Previous USA owner details.

Hi all.
Now I have found the right place to be for all 1950's mgtf realted stuff,I can ask some questions about my cars history???
My car was originally owned by a Michael C Railsback of Auburn,CA,USA.
Supposedly he worked for Warner Brothers studios??
It was exported/sold by him to a british owner,Gordon Edwards of Hadleigh,Suffolk in Feb 1997.
Cars details are;
1954 MG TF 1500
Chassis; HDC46/6985
Engine; XPEG 849
USA reg GDM 311 "Escondido CA"
It seems to have last been on the road in about 1991.
Has anybody ANY information relating to either previous owners named,or any other previous owners known,or you are a previous owner,or just anything known about the car in general from 1954-1996 in the USA and 1997-2011 in the UK.
If you could put me in contact with any of its previous owners that would be GREAT!!!
Yours EXPECTANTLY.
Dave,aka "Pilkie"
And Casper!

Hi all.
Edit timed out while I was editing!!!

The guy I bought it from in march 2012 got it in circa 2009 and never did anything to it,but kept it in a dry airy barn with his other 30+ classic collection.

I'm very new to this so if I'm out of place in posting this, please let me know.

While y'all are looking for info about Dave's TF, can you see if you have any info regarding my recently acquired TD:
Car No. TD/25009
Engine No. XPAG/TD2 25404
Body Type 22381
Body No. 24331/1742

Thanks.

Jud, you may already know this, but the T Register website gives the build date as 11th Feb 1953 if that helps.

Pilkie,(Dave), Any success in finding an engine and transmission for the car? Work on mine stopped about a year ago due to moving across country and having a new house built, but I enjoy reading about other owners bringing their cars back from the dead! Keep posting on your progress. I'm not the only one interested. PJ

Hi PJ.
No luck yet,but thats not a problem,I can still drive and enjoy it.
And if one turns up at the right price, then its an easy job to swap it back to original spec.
See the link here for more about it,and lots of pictures.
