MG TD TF 1500 - Oil Pressure Regulator
Greetings My TF came with a Moss Adjustable Oil Pressure Regulator in place. The motor is in very good condition. I just searched the archives on this accessory, but could not find the answer to my question. The techie at Moss was not sure either. Which way do I turn the adjuster to increase oil pressure? In or out? I went out and experimented, turning in and out about one complete turn with no significant change in pressure on my dash guage. Also, how large are the adjustment intervals? Is it multiple turns, or just a fraction of a turn? Tom |

Tom, It should be *IN* to increase pressure (compresses the spring against the ball bearing seal). There doesn't seem to be an exact adjustment interval... Gene |

Tom; Probably won't see a change at idle-relief rarely plays a role at low rpms. Trial and error type adjustment-make take more than a turn to see a change. Dan |

Thank you gentlemen; I'll experiment with turning IN and see if I can have a balance between 50psi and minimal leaks. Also, I installed pertronix today. All went well. Performance at speed and at idle feels better, so far. I will not miss gaping the points. Tom |
