MG TD TF 1500 - Nice TD3 on ebay

Here is a real find. Why are these always on the left coast? :>)

I saw that one. Very interesting car. I didn't know there was a rear bumper Badge and reflectors for the Mark II. Bet that's hard to find.

As for the "left coast" I'd really love to be close enough to get this one:

Aw Dave, you told everyone. I am close and wanted it for the temp gauge, now it will be a stampede.

As to the MKII, yes they had a badge on the rear facebar and reflectors. This came at the end of the run and is a Very rare item.

What is that color? It doesn't look like the Sunburst Bronze shown in the color chart. Greg & Grimm

I think the color of the MK11 is their repaint rendition of Almond Green? They also did a little enhancement with the dash, steering wheel, valve and rocker covers, etc.

I think it is Silverstreak Grey or close to it.

I notice that the seller calls it "tan" ?

Interesting reverse light position...

That TF is in similar condition to the one I bought 5 years ago for $3500. I would guess that it will bring that much, since it's a 1500 and appear to be mostly complete, although in need of just about everything.

I wonder if the seller has a title, since he says he's selling the car for parts only. I think it's restorable, although it will be quite expensive to do so.

It's a good project for someone. Hope someone takes it on and gets it back on the road.

I emailed the seller. He does not have a title.

CT only needs a bill of sale. If out of an estate, there must be something from the probate court, which would give you a reasonable provenance.

Yes but according to some recent posts isn't the instrument panel cluster alone worth $3500? Then there's the XPEG etc etc.

As being a very late car it could have been silver streak grey,m which complies with the red interior. But the respray looks like a solid color like the Birch Grey of the TF range. Nonetheless to me it is a beautiful and rare TD.

Yes, these cars, especially in poor condition, are worth more parted out than whole. The lack of a title makes it much more likely that this car will be parted out than restored. It should be possible to get a title, but it will take some time.

Oh well, even if it isn't restored, the parts should be used to help put another car back on the road.

I'm guessing that bidding will approach 5K on this car, but I'm also speculating that the reserve is at least 5K. Someone could make some money by disassembling and reselling the engine, instruments, etc separately.
