MG TD TF 1500 - New MGTF Website

A new mgtf website, that is a sister to the Original MGTD midget site, has been formed. It is brought to you by a worlwide group of TF enthusiasts.

While the site is in it's infancy we do have great plans for it to grow.

You can find the site at:
http://www.mgcars.org.uk/mgtf

If you would like to become a joint editor or have something to contribute please email me or Matthew at mgtf@mgcars.org.uk

Chris,
This thread should have been called:
"THE" MG TF WEBSITE ... (NEW) !!!!
If you "T" typers haven't looked because you think it is the "new" mg tf website take a look! It is not dedacated to that "new" mg tf that I will only refer to now in the "lower-case" ( the upper case being reserved for the MG TF that we all know & love!) Since MG has seen fit for us to "share" our name I urge all to join me in this practice.
MGTF (the car we know and love 1953/1955)
mgtf (that new "thief" that has taken our beloved's name)
I would use a smaller font if there was one avlb. from this post!
A great site ....just please...I beg you...no mention of the "mgtf" should ever be on there!
Are you with me on this one folks????
Cheers,
David, MG-TF 1500

Dave,

I'll hang in there with ya. Seems to me that the "new" mgtf just doesn't have any "soul". Ya gotta have soul.

It was close to being done before. There was the MG TC 1945-49 and the MGA TC 58-60.

Addendum:

Actually, I believe they are really two different names but we've corrupted, or simplified, them so they appear to be the same.

The 1953-55 car is a MG Midget Series TF. The 1955-80 cars were MG Series MGA or MG Series MGB. Following the same line of development, we probably now have the MG Series MGF and MG Series MGTF. A better way of differenting would be to insure that the 53-55 car is written as "MG TF" and the new car "MGTF".

Does this mean that the new "MGTF" has no interiour space?

Mathew:

LOL, loved the pun. And with a mid engined car, you could be partially correct!

P.S.

There seems to be no interior space for them in the US as we don't have any here!

AAAARRRRGGGHHH!!! Don't get me started on that thing that calls itself an MG!!!!! Blake - you are right, There was an MG A,B,C and blueprints for cars termed D and E thats why they choose F (I presume) So where this T in the front comes from I do not know!!! Living in Scotland not only must my car share the same name but the same roads!! Mid engined? It's practically in the boot(trunk)! There is no old and new TF there is only TF! I forward a motion that we never give it the privilge of mentioning it here again!!!!!!!!!! I must go and lie down in a darkened room now.
