MG TD TF 1500 - New living room end table

Seems to work well....and the 'lower' cup holder is awsome!

Could do double duty as a wine rack.

This is the hole in the cyl wall... A local machine shop said they had sleeved 'way worse' then this...?
This will be the 1500 block someday.

gblawson(gordon)

Wow... what did that come out of?
LED DOWNEY

My mechanic had it sitting around after finding a new replacement engine for a customer...he told me to take it if i wanted it....

Gordon,

Don't get discouraged about your block. In 1956, I picked up an XPEG block from a friend who blew it up in an MG special. I wasn't sure what I could do with it and thought about putting flowers in the 4 pots. It was stored in my garage until around 1998 when I discovered a plant in Calgary, that repairs large machinery for the oil industry. I took the block to them, and after a lot of explaining, they agreed to see what could be done. The short story is, they did an incredible job and I have the pleasure of putting the block together for my TD. Patience had nothing to do with it, as over time, I actually forgot I had it. Hang onto that block.

OK, so what is the wife's reaction to the new end table?

If you really want to incorporate a TD into your home. You might want to do what they did at the Magic Time Machine in San Antonio

I'm not at all discouraged... I'm just going to collect parts, have it sleeved and bored and eventually switched with mine, or swapped with mine ....

Anyone with old bits and pieces laying around....?
gblawson(gordon)

Geez we are getting old aren't we...
a wine rack.
If you would have got it 40 years ago would have been a 4~Person Bong!
David Sheward

That would have put it in the 70s....I don't remember the 70s.....
gblawson(gordon)

There were 70's?
LED DOWNEY

I've heard it said that if you remember the 1970s, you weren't there. Or, was it the 1960s? In the haze, I've forgotten.

I remember leaving for SF CA. in 1969....then suddenly (or not so suddenly) it was the mid- 80's and I had 3 children...not real sure what happened in-between... but pretty sure I did "partcipate" as they say!
Now I'm having trouble remembering 2009!
Not sure if that's my fault, or Tim Learys!

DAVID.
Memory loss is the second sign of old age. No more kids either?

HUH...What was this thread about?
Where am I? (this doesn't look like Kansas anymore.)
David Sheward

...something about me wanting parts for some wine rack or something....???
gblawson(gordon)

Let me know if you find my stash in there. I'm pretty sure it was either there or a shoe box...I forget.
