What Grade of petrol is recommended for an Australian mgtf1500 Any ideas would be appreciated

I always use 98 octane in mine JS and the PO did also for many decades. What state of tune is it in?

From the original TF tuning book.
Standard 8.1 :1CR, min 78-80 octane.
Stage 1 ,8.3:1 CR use 90 octane.
Stage 2, 9.3:1 CR use 90 octane.
Stage 3, 9.45:1 CR use 90 octane.
For racing applications 90 octane can be used up to 10.7:1 CR.

So I don't know what the lowest grade available in Aus but in NZ it's 91 so should cover all states of tune.

Interesting BW. Mine is circa St1-2 CR and I find that less than 98 works best for me. 95 is also OK. I avoid ethanol mixes.
