MG TD TF 1500 - Merson TD List on Ttalk

The 'Wickett' TD list that I asked about turned out to be the TD list being compiled by George Merson. It now has close to 1100 listings. I've added the list to http://www.Ttalk.info/ and just click on TD List. George's data file is available in either Word or Wordperfect format. The full data file contains quite a few owner's email addresses. In the interest of privacy, and to thwart the spammers, I've opted not to include that data in the table. If your car, or a car that you know of, isn't on George's list you might want to contact him with the data. I think that this is the greatest number of TDs on any list that I've seen published.

Bud - Thank you for considering everyones privacy and not including e-mail addresses on the list on Ttalk. Dave

Bud-
How does George's list compare to the list maintained by the New England MG T Register?

And do they ever publish their list?
R. Challberg

NEMGTR is quite stingy about the membership information and, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't published such a list since there were only a couple of hundred members. Periodically, a member index is offered, by subscription. I think the charge for the last one was about $75. It only contains the information about the members who subscribe.
George told me that he obtains data from wherever he can find it, eBay, auctions, etc.

Bud/George -

Terrific list. Interesting to see so many TDs in Australia.

As note to whomever is updating the list, my location has changed from Ohio, USA to Texas (which is a sovereign nation in the eyes of natives ;-)

Thanks.

Indeed: Mr. Merson deserves a lot of credit. Must have been an enourmous task compiling this list ! Disappointing number of Dutch TD's on it though.
Interesting to see how the engine (numbers) were distributed over the chassis: certainly not "first in-first out". Especially on the Mk II TD's you can see a high engine number mounted in a low numbered chassis and vice versa. Pity there are no body numbers on it.
Bud: thanks for considering everyones privacy, and making the list easily available.
Cheers, Nick 52TD/63midget.

Was going through my receipts to see how much I have over spent on the TF I bought 2 years ago. Found a registration for a 51 TD2975F84. I suspect that it was for the TD that was sitting along side the TF I bought. It had already been sold. Black with a B series motor in it. I suspect it's still in Colorado some place. I know the the numbers are not right but thats not suprising. My title has the engine number listed as the vin number. Will change it if I ever get it back on the road.

Hmmm... F84? Wonder what that is? Good old DMV
When i re-registered mine (1972 Ont. plates were reused a few years ago so the car wasn't in the system), the woman insisted that the "VIN" had to be longer... finally convinced here 27667 was all it should be. She then told me it "had" to be engraved into the dash so it could be seen through the windshield (Duh!!!!!). I of course promised to do that (anything to get out with my new ownership).... "Promise them anything....." Imagine there are a lot of T's with the Body number as the "VIN"?
