MG TD TF 1500 - MC Cover fasteners.

The WSM it shows two bolts(?) securing the master cylinder cover plate. My foot well has no holes for one.

I dont believe I ever had a cover. I purchased on from Moss.
I have no idea how it is secured. The WSM looks like two RH bolts. That seems simple enough. But how are they secured. Is the hole threaded? Are they self tapping screws? Are there nuts? If so are they captive Do the screws have shoulders? Why dont I have existing holes?

The foot well metal is thin. I dont think you could get more than one thread. I just dont think MG would use self taping. If the screws do not have shoulders you will need to loosen both too get to the MC.

Can any one help?

Thanks

Jim, The picture above is for RHD and very early LHD cars with no footwell. The cars with the metal footwell use a rubber plug. George

Ah.
That makes a lot of sense.

Now to find the plug.

Thanks George.
