MG TD TF 1500 - Lucas parts

Hello all and happy new year. I have a small collection of original Lucas parts that need to be idenified. Most are t series and some are even pre-war era. I seem to recall someone posted a link that you could search old records by part number but I just can't seem to find it. If someone has that link could you please post it again. Thank you Harry

If you have a camera, why not post pictures on something like webshots.com. We love figuring out what various parts are. Could be fun for the group.

BEC - Thanks for your note and a good idea except I don't have a camera. OK here are a couple of questions I will let the experts way in on. I have a Lucas NOS semi-sealed head light lens. It is a 7" with a Lucas medallion in the center #553976 BUT does not have a silvered reflector, it is dark green. I am wondering if this is a low light to be used during the war. The reflector is in perfect shape but I am just not sure why it is like this. The other headlight in question is a 7" C A V # 512472 semi-sealed. Is this a replacement for the Lucas or is it meant for a German or French model ? thanks
harry

Harry, back in 1962, my TD had a factory type, normal silver reflector. In France, we had to use a yellow bulb. In Germany, they had the same lamp shell but with a clear bulb. I have never seen a headlamp with a green reflector and have no idea what its use may have been.

I checked my Lucas reference manual and find no reference for those numbers in any car from 1948 - 1962. Must pre-date that time period.

Longshot observation: Might a green reflector shell have something to do with WWII night time blackout regulations? I recall reading about louvers on headlights...
