MG TD TF 1500 - Looking for information about carburetter bodies

Hi,

I'm not an MG TD/TF owner but I'm looking for information about 2 carburetter bodies I have here. A search on the internet led me to this thread linked below which I would like to continue but haven't figured the way to do it (hence new thread).

http://www.mg-cars.info/mgtd-mgtf1500-bbs/original-su-auc-s-for-tdstfs-2020032711405627121.htm

So, this is what I have:

https://bit.ly/38Vz51B

https://bit.ly/2OnmE51

https://bit.ly/2B2rfqo

As you can see these H2 bodies have different lengths. The 3229 is 4.85" long and the AUC6060D is 4.42".

Both use the same butterfly spindle (5/16"), but the mounting holes for the inlet manifold are spaced differently. The 3229 has, from center to center of each stud hole, 2.3"; while the AUC6060D has 2.55" (the same has an HS2 for a Mini, for example).

So, my questions are:
1) Was my 3229 used on later MG TD as suggested in the previous thread (does that spacing for the inlet manifold stud holes makes sense)?
2) Does anyone know to which cars the AUC6060D was fitted?
3) I didn't get that "heavy" material detail. Are those bodies cast from "heavy" material easily identifiable? How do I know if these are heavy or light? (the 3229 weighs 264grams, the AUC6060D 266grams and a later HS2 215grams)

Thanks

Joe Curto, British Superior, knows all. He is apparently redesigning his website. He is still “google-able”.

I have found a thread from the archive that might be useful and reactivated it (for those who do not like web links). Thread: 'Original 1 1/4' SU AUC Model Number'

Also see the SU carb manufactuer website for info: http://sucarb.co.uk/technical/
and their part number and vehicle search boxes at:
