MG TD TF 1500 - Intake holes -TF

Has any one had any experience with holes in the stud boss that divides the intake port?.The holes appear to be caused by corrosion and go into the stud cavity. The rest of the head appears OK.Can the holes be repaired?
Thanks

Yes, a machine shop car repair this. The ports must have been opened up & boss narrowed, by grinding. The I.D. of the boss is reamed out slightly, a stainless steel sleeve is then epoxied in, [with a slight interferance fit]. Then top & bottom are machined flush with the head.Don't ask how i know this! Len

If you are going to bond SS sleeves into the holes in the head, I would recommend using Loctite 620 retaining compound(green stuff) with the right cleaner, primer and activator. You can probably get this from an industrial adhesive supply company.
Contrary to Lou"s reference to an interference fit of the sleeve, Loctite insists you have a 1 or 2 thousandth clearance for the adhesive and filling retention. Loctite 820 is good for HT applications in engines..
I have used it in resleeving brake cylinders without any problems. Also bonded the ends onto my tach cable with it and they have not failed in 4 years.
I am fortunate that Loctite has there Tech Center very close to my home and they gave me advice and a sample.
