MG TD TF 1500 - How many MG Logos are on your car?

I'm doing a surprise birthday drive for a 90-year-old tomorrow who's owned five T-types during his lifetime and so, in preparation, I gave my car an all-over polish.
During this most theraputic of jobs I started to wonder how my MG logos were present on the car?
Just for a bit of fun I'm sure lots of you can propably beat me but I have 11 in all, how about you?

Cliff Harvey

Off the top of my head (Im not anywhere near the car at the moment):

5 on the wheels, 1 steering wheel, 1 gear shift knob, 1 radiator nose, 1 on the gas cap lever, 1 on the oil dip stick, 1 on the VIN type plate, 1 on the engine (if you count the brass octagon plate as a logo), 1 in the rubber footwell, 1 on the tool roll, 4 on the engine compartment openers, 1 on the exhaust manifold, 1 on the key fob

none on the carpets (I have the non-luxury version) and none on the air intake (I have pancake filters)

Makes 20 so far.

Im sure I find a few more when I start looking in earnest....

Ok Mike now I feel silly, I forgot the bonnet handles, dip stick, vin plate, exhaust manifold, key fob and, ok we'll count the brass engine plate even though it doesn't have an MG, so that's 20 for me too.

Badge bar and threshold plates?

I have 3 built into my steering wheel wood 😊
Geoffrey M Baker

That gives you an unfair advantage ;-)

Mike

1. Gas cap release
2,3,4,5,6 knock offs
7.radiator badge
8,9 threshold plates
10 steering wheel center
11 guarantee plate
12 cast valve cover
13 dash badge
14 old grille badge mounted to the fire wall
15 key fob
16. recessed rubber foot well
17,18 floor mats
19 dip stick
20 exhaust manifold
21 oil filler cap
22, 23 valve cover nuts

I'm not sure if I get to count any of these.

MG LaVerne

Or these...there's a lot of octagon going on here.

MG LaVerne

I was expecting a TF driver to claim the instruments....

And - what about your ash tray ? or was that in the TD ?

Mike
Mike Fritsch

Knobs as well Mike.

Thought about doing the octagons on the cupholders but in the end I left them off.

MG LaVerne

And none on the tool roll Mike. Mine's an exact copy of the original TD/TF hessian jobbie hence no M.G. logo. Nor am I counting the M.G. logo on the cylinder head spanner as that particular spanner was wrenched from earlier T Type tool rolls. None on the oil filler cap nor on the rocker cover fixings. I am guilty however of having a logo on the oil bath air filter manifold which I'm told probably belongs on a Y as it also carries the part number 24277. Cheers

TF's gain the gauges and dash badge, but lose the bonnet catches.
All our threshold plates were plain ex factory.
LHD TF's have an advantage over RHD by one factory octagon. Can anyone tell me what it is?

Matthew.
M Magilton

TD gains the intake logo over the TF as well.

Guessing the floor board rubber on the TF's
MG LaVerne

What about this? It's the catch on my side curtain storage door... was this factory or an addon?

Geoffrey M Baker

Slow news day?
8^)
Gene Gillam

You got it LaVerne.
Not factory Geoffrey, but an interesting catch. Reminds me of the dash badge on the later midgets. Length?

Matthew.
M Magilton

Pretty common piece Geoffrey. Used on the radio blanking plates on the MGA and MGB for sure. And of course standard on the EX racers :-)

MG LaVerne

OK, you may beat me in numbers...

...but can you beat me in size ;=)

Mike

Mike Fritsch

Mike, I think you win. Not sure how well you can see when driving with that thing on, though :)
Geoffrey M Baker

:-)
MG LaVerne

When you see the backside, you might think I did not see well in the first place and thatīs how the logo got there...

But the story is slightly different: When I searched for suitable raw material for the logo, I kept my eyes open for octagonal things, and thatīs what I found.

But Iīd like to make it very clear that this one is legally acquired and not one thatīs gone astray from a quiet street corner
