MG TD TF 1500 - Head Lights
Where can I purchase the black rubber hose that covers the wire from the fender to the headlights on a 52 TD? I have found 1/4 inch rubber hose, but I need 5/16 inch inside dia. Can someone help me. Thanks, Louis |

Louis, The headlight wires on a TD were originally only in the cloth wiring harness binding, with no rubber covering. There were 3 or 4 wires (depending if turn signals or not), with two splitting off to the parking/turn light. George |

The TF had the rubber sleeve protection in many areas. You can get it very reasonably at british wire. They have any size you need. Dan H. |

Thanks for the info. I was able to find some at an auto parts store. I do appreciate all the imput, yes I do know that the original was cloth, I just do not want to rewire the car. Louis |

Louis - I would recommend going with the sleeving from British Wiring http://www.britishwiring.com/, it is not nearly so bulky as the hose that you get from an auto parts store and is much easier to work with. Cheers - Dave |

Louis, I second British Wiring. You may want to just tape them up, since you would have to disconnect everything to slip the tubing over the wire. Be sure the insulation on the individual wires is good. George |

Louis, British wiring has the PVC sleeving from 3mm to 25mm. For the 5/16" you will need 8mm. I would suggest you also get 10mm (3/8") It's only about a buck a meter. Call 866 461 9050. They will be happy to help you. I have no association with these guys just a happy customer. Dan H. |
