MG TD TF 1500 - GOF 95

Who is heading to GOF 95 next week? We will be there hopefully with the TD or the A or the B (worst case scenario). Actually tossed around the idea of taking the Ducatis' if Rick will let them into the Funkana. :)

Can't wait to see everyone!

Hi Blair. Planning on a day trip next Saturday. Should arrive about 10:30 and plan to hang around until about 2 pm. I'll be looking for you. It's a shame that we won't have Bob Jeffers for another shot like this one from Mystic. Bud

Bud Krueger

Bud - Which one in the picture is Bob Jeffers? He and I had many a discussion on fuel pumps as I worked to make the low pressure pump a bit more peppy. Bob even got some heaver wire and rewound a coil in an attempt to get some pep out of the pumps. Over the years, we got to know each other rather well, yet we never met face to face. Cheers - Dave

i am planning on attending from rockton, il. 998 miles each way according to google maps. arriving wednesday is my plan right not. regards, tom

Bob is far right, leaning on the TD with the light blue cap. He will be missed, but his regulator he installed on the TD will be there, going strong!

Tom,

You're a good candidate for the Bernie Stelman Award for Distance.

I won it at GOF 94. Not a hope this time!

Good luck.

Hey Folks, pray for good weather; although as indicated, we've rented the Middlebury arena (rain or shine) for the Saturday Morning Car Display in case of bad weather. However, if its nice, we've got a great outside location.

Also, at the risk of stealing David Sander's thunder, he has a fabulous surprise for each car registrant... itself worth the price of entry! You won't be disappointed!

And the Friday morning Covered Bridge Tour is so well-subscribed that we've had to split it into two groups.

With my daughter Nancy, I'll be doing Registration Friday afternoon - looking forward to meeting all of you.

The GOF is going to be an event to remember! I know that Dave and his crew have put a great amount of work into it. BUT,, one thing that I am really anxious to get is the ETHANOL FREE PETROL just around the corner from the Inn !!

The first timer show at the Middlebury airport using airport transfers tunbridge wells. 17 First timers and Frank Churchill's airplane flew in for a photo op.

Is this what happens when a little MG is well fed and watered, well fertilized and gets too much sun? This beautiful car is HUGE!

D. Sander

I ran in to these two regulars today. Gord Clark and Bud Kruger were both in attendance today at the GOF in Middlebury, Vermont. Thanks for making the trip today, Bud. It was good to see you again. I am sorry I did not have more time for you today.

Rode up yesterday 400 miles round trip on the HD through the Green Mountains to check out the 50th Anniversary and I had a great time. I wished I left a little earlier so I could spend more time "meet and greet" more people and check out more cars. There were some really nice MG's there.

Nice to see some familiar faces as well -- Dave Sander and Gordon Clark and new ones as I got the opportunity to finally meet Bud Kruger.

Lastly.... I do not know if you knew this or not Bud, that was me passing you on the Black Road King on RT 89 doing 85MPH. Bud not only puts a lot of miles on his TD but he rides it like he stole it too!

Best!

Frank
Frank Cronin

Didn't recognize you, Frank. Sorry. I mostly get beeps from HD folks when I'm driving bugs-in-the-teeth style and I don't need a helmet. BTW, would you do me a favor and drop an email to Bob Brown (bbrown (at) bayaero.com). He has some TF questions for you. Tnx. Bud

BTW, TD stands for To Drive.
Bud Krueger

OMG Frank, that was you! With the sunglasses and the bike gear, I did not recognize you! I am so sorry!! I knew I knew you, but I could not place you. I have been trying to figure out who you were all day! I am so embarrassed! Anyway, It was good talking with you. I would have loved to talk TF with you!
I hope to see you soon!
D. Sander

Dave,
Thank you for another great GOF!

Tom Peterson - Great meeting you, stay in touch!

Best wishes to all who looked out for me at my first GOF..Erie,pa tonight on the way home..came back through Adirondack park and stayed on secondary roads until past buffalo. Lake Ontario shore is a lovely drive..and the 35 mph speed limits in places is a very gentlemanly pace.
Blair, many thanks to you, your bride Leslie, and to Wayne, Lee, and Debbie for offering me the last spot at your table.
Sorry I did not say hello to gord..tried to at the show..and again at the banquet..but misconnected on both attempts..my loss.
To David, thank you again for the note about Mary in the sacred octagon, and for your efforts at launching this years GOF..
Brett, the bridge tour was a great, great event..a Herculean effort.
Many thanks to all...another special thanks to Milton and his pal Jim, for taking me under their wing throughout the week. Regards, tom

And this from a shop window in Middlebury ...regards, tom

It was nice that Frank Cronin drove some 400 mils just to re-connect with a few of us. I'm flattered. I didn't instantly recognize him as he rode up in a Harley, and almost immediately departed.

Bud drove Lazurus about the same distance.

Great to greet old MG hands!

Well, GOF 95 is officially over. I just picked up the last MG, paid our tab and closed out the contract with The Middlebury Inn. I am biased, but from what I saw it sure looked like a success to me!
Thank you to the 170 plus people who registered, and the many more who came to see the event on Saturday. It was good to see such strong numbers in attendance.

D. Sander

I think we should reserve the Middlebury inn now for the 100th. Regards, tom
tm peterson

Yes David it was indeed a great success.
David has just the perfect temperament and skill to organize these events. Almost everything goes off like clock work but most important is that when there is a hitch he finds a solution and does it with a smile.
Thank you David. See you in September.
Mort

It was nice to meet so many names from this BBS. I wish we had more time to talk.
