MG TD TF 1500 - Fuel Problem Where?

Having an on going fuel problem(s) with a running project. After ten-15 mins driving seem to run out of fuel, engine won't rev faster than 2200 RPM and no power in engine. If I shut engine off and wait a minute will restart and run for a while. Have noticed that pin in front fuel bowl is down when engine won't rev up, but fuel pump is clicking at normal; slow every few seconds( is new). Have ordered and intend to change in tank fuel filter and I cleaned filters in pump and those going into each fuel bowl. Recently have noticed that on start up while pump clicking quickly fuel spurts from pins on top of bowls and sometimes have to wiggle pins till they rise and block squirting fuel. Any ideas as to fuel starving and squirting fuel bowl issues

Jon,
Fuel squirting out of the pin area is most likley indicating that the floats need to be adjusted, or the needle valve is worn,,, the pin going down in the front carb while the engine is running and the fuel pump is clicking indicates that the fuel bowl is not getting a suficient amount of fuel,,, check the fuel bowl inlet screen for a blockage,,,

Had the same problem with the squirting fuel. My SU's had the float valves with the little flat rubber end on them. I replaced those with the ones that have the pointed end. End of squirting fuel problem. I've had no problem since. As far as fuel starvation, I've not run into that yet. However, I've read a lot on this board, and the problem can be traced to many things, One is low fuel tank level and improper venting of the fuel fill cap, causing a bit of a vacuum on the tank space above the fuel.
