MG TD TF 1500 - Free Parts!!!!!!

Now that I have your attention. It's getting close to a year since I sent out the leftovers on my TF rebuild. I sent off a couple off freebies to someone yesterday for a B and sold a spare B trasnsmission to a needy individual the day before. My question is to those who received the parts. I have quite a pile of spare B and Spridget stuff collecting dust in the shop and was wondering whether to offer it up for the taking or whether it should be ebayed to the highest bidder. I really don't think I would have been willing to pay anything for what I sent out last year. So whats your thoughts, did you get something usefull or just some more junk? Were you able to put it to use? Did everyone send a photo to Gordon as promised?

LaVerne,
If you would send me your email address, I'd like to see if you have something I'm after.

Thanks

How about posting the site address again Gordon so the newer names I see on the board will know what we are talking about and perhaps they will contribute. I'm thinking we should get "printer Dave" to make us up a two or three year calender at a bargin basement price.

Sorry Tom, All the leftover "T" stuff went out last year.

Know it might be a lot of work, but any potential you can make a list of some of the items? Friend is restoring a 74 Sprite and may be able to use some of the parts.

LaVerne,
I'm planning to install the B antisway bar setup on my TD and am looking for the miscellaneous bits (bar, bar ends, hanger brackets). I've already redone the spring pans with the B wishbones, so I'm ready to hang the rest of it. Anything like that in your stash?

Bruce, The small lot of Spridget I have left was from a 62 of which very little found its way to a 74 (must be a midget as 70 was the last year for the Sprite).

Gordon, to be honest I think many already had photos with you and I think we got all but two that I sent parts to. Were the wheels useable or just more junk for you?

La Verne,
I am helping a friend do a 71 MGB. Do you have any used parts for this car? Have a good day!

"'honed' procrastination to a new level"
Sorry Gord.. I "own" that tittle already!
Wife will be witness to this!
Ask her about the "classic dish washer" in our kitchen! Purchased new when we moved here and sat in the box until the mortgage was paid-off ...15 years later!
When I unpacked it and installed I sent the warranty card in and found they had been out of business for over 10 years!

Regarding "procrastination": I submit the following true story. When I was back in the 9th grade, I received an assignment for a research paper from my English teacher. For reasons long forgotten, I was detained in her classroom for a few minutes at the end of the school day, at which time I was offered some of the materials which I would need to consult. I declined, saying I would do it later.

My English teacher, Mrs Kane, reminded me that my problem was that I procrastinate. Of course I agreed, but it meant nothing as she then asked me if I knew what "procrastinate" means. Cornered, I had to admit that I did not (and I really had no idea what the word meant).

"Why don't you go look it up, then?" asked Mrs Kane, pointing to the 30-pound Webster's Dictionary - the size only found in English classrooms and libraries.

"I'll do it later", I responded. Mrs Kane cracked not even a trace of a smile, but as soon as I was out of the room she must have convulsed with laughter.

As I said - true story! Now who owns the title?

BTW: for anybody needing MGB parts, perhaps I too can help. I have a barn loft quite full of stuff that can otherwise have no earthly value. Just use my e-mail address. I've just recently been the objects of somebody else's generosity so I'm anxious to spread the good fortune.

Holiday Cheers,

I mean "object", not "objects". Singular!

Duh!!
