MG TD TF 1500 - Coil Orientation

I did a stupid thing tonite. I bought a new Flame Thrower coil for my TF-1500 as I already have a petronix ignitor installed I decided to try a little hotter spark. I removed the old coil without checking it's orientation for proper reconnect of the wires from the dizzy and to ground. Does the wire from the dizzy connect to the minus side or the positive side of the coil, is basically my question. Been a long weekend and I shouldn't have started this little project at this hour of the day.

Are you positive or negative ground?

Dennis,

With the pertonix, your need to follow the insturctions here: http://www.pertronix.com/downloads/ignitor12vpos.pdf

Good luck!

Dennis,
Make sure you check the "Flame Thrower" coil with a volt ohm meter first! I got 2 of them from Jeggs that were incorectly marked ...both box & sticker on coil!
At first they didn't want to take it back ...but when we pulled a second one from their shelf and it was wrong also they made it right!
FWIW: Check your wires...the "kit" sold for these cars from Tiwan is crap! Get a set of Lucas Bumble-Bee Cables!

That's the first time I have ever seen or heard anyone recommend a Lucas component. I don't know what the world is coming to!

Thanks David,

The next thing is a new set of wires. I'm hopeful that the new wires along with a new coil will solve the high speed constant slight miss I've been getting. The miss is so slight that my wife can't detect it but I know it's there and it bugs me to death.
