MG MGF Technical - Stop-Leak: Any good?

I detected some cooling fluid loss on the floor of the garage, and actually saw a green stuff emerging from the inlet manifold area. Took the F to the garage and the people there suggested to try with Wynn's Stop-Leak -Wynns Oil Co, CA, USA- before going for the optional gasket replacement. I was uncertain but the fact is that after pouring the F 325cc of the Wynn's stuff followed by twenty minutes of hard driving... the leak is gone. I am still worried for possible side effects. Any of you people have used this or any other similar product? I will value your opinions.

Hi Brian, If there is a bit of calcium buildup in the rad core it can block a significant amount of water flow. I wouldnt chance it, paticularly with the F.Get it fixed and use the opportunity to check out the rest of the system.Cheers Bob.

Not long ago I was tempted too. Coolant loss on the floor. I bought a product -cant remember the brand- and filled the expansion tank with the engine running and the heater on. That happenned six month ago and was quite successful indeed. At present no evidence of further leakage and no side-effects so far. The B&G cooling sensor is there just in case. So far so good.

Just to update the results that for me are quite impressing. I still donīt know how long the stuff effect may last, but the cooling loss is completely gone. Not even a drop on the floor and no detectable negative side-effects so far. The F behaves as ussual and water and oil temp gauge get to the same level as before. Heater works fine.
