MG MGF Technical - Should I be worried?

Holidays, Work and bad weather. Bottom line is my TF hasn't moved for about five weeks. I attached a battery conditioner about three weeks ago; so plenty of charge when the sun finally made an appearance this weekend.

First turn of the key - nothing - just a dead click like a flat battery or a jammed starter motor. Second turn of the key and engine fired up as normal. I've used the car quite a bit this weekend without any further problems.

I'm putting it down to lack of use but can anyone provide an explanation of what might have caused the problem. Also, any tips on how to avoid this in the future - I know, use the car is the obvious answer!!

Thanks, Bob

A dirty connection. Clean the battery terminals and the connections thru to the starter.

You may as well also clean up the earth strap connection on the rear bulkhead of the engine bay.
