Sorry, meant to reply the other day.

Nowhere is secret. I suggested Brown & Gammon for mail order parts. Also you will have seen mention of MGF Centre in Wolverhampton. Victoria runs the business and sells both good quality used and also new parts from the shop or by mail.

Both of these advertise on this BBS so you can get contact details.

I have also mentioned MGF Centre as a source for hood covers. I believe the site is currently quoting £45 including fixing posts.

For parts, try North West MGF:

Speak to Martin. I've had a couple of things (new headlamp glass and yellow painted passenger airbag blank). He had them both in 2 days, and is friendly, helpful, proactive and most important, very competitive on price.

I'll be spending a lot more time going there!!

Cheers

hiya, how much roughly does it cost for the replacement of the glass/plastic for the indicator light....mine just happens to have smashed......!! might just be because i work in a rough part of Mancester.

No other damage done....it is white plastic.

When you originally asked about suppliers I had fogotten that Martin had recently started up Northwest MGF.

Just spotted this...

Firstly the MGF indicator glass isn't replaceable, you need to replace the whole indicator (very very easy job). This goes for the front and side repeaters. Rear light clusters are again only replaceable as an entire unit - this is marginally more difficult, but not hard to do.

I'm confused about the last line though - none of the indicators are white plastic...

Scarlet, By white plastic I meant.....that it isn't glass and the actually material that has smashed is white......and within it is fitted a yellow bulb. It is the indicator light at the front of the car.

I had one of my ( amber ) front indicators smashed by debris thrown up by a coach on the motorway.

I had it replaced by MG Rover in York ( nearest to the incident ) for £45.00, fitted, took about 45 minutes.

I would imagine that the clear one would be around the same .

Have I gone mad ...

45 quid for one indicator (amber)!! Used to get a pair for £35. Sorry I forgot amber indicators are now rare ...

45 mins to fit one indicator !! Was Stevie Wonder on work experience that day. 2 mins tops to do this.

I'd only had the car a week, didn't know about this site.... first long(ish) journey......And I'd forgotten my sellotape and scissors that day ! :-)

If I knew then what I know now....
