MG MGF Technical - Misfire LabRat ARRRGGG
Jeez I am on site which is a long way from home and everytime I come here the damn car decides to generate a lovely misfire from 4000rpm and upwards ...but only when hot! it's like the rev limiter! you have to throttle off, giving it more welly just induces potps and bangs in the exhaust. Not good when you need to get past that tractor...like NOW! But if you let the ******* thing cool down bingo! it revs to your hearts content!!!! I've replaced the dizzy cap, rotor arm, HT leads and spark plugs...running out of options...any experience of this issue ...or just any ideas? dont tell me it's the ECU!! |

Fuel evapouration???? Is the fuel pump on its way out? I'm assuming that all the ignition parts are okay as you've replaced all these components recently... (unless there is a faulty part?) |

in general, coils are notorious for breaking down when hot |

Process of elimination I think we'll do coil and then Fuel pump ....and then we will get a big stick and say.. "Right that's it ....I've warned you time and time again...You can't say that I havent warned you .... I'm going to give it a damn good thrashing!!" |
