MG MGF Technical - MGF hydragas failure

Once again my right hand rear Hydragas Suspension unit has failed resulting in instant dropping of the ride hide on the right side and fluid leakage. The unit was replaced 3 years ago and from examination the failure is identical this time as I can see the split rubber diaphragm. Once again I was a long way from home. I can see why MGR ditched this abomination on the mgtf. Should I order half a dozen units and keep them in my garage for future failures or has anyone got a better idea.
Graham

This same unit was fitted to many Metros and was only ditched, not because it was no good, but because the Metro went out of production making it too expensive to produce only for the 'F'.
Failures are rare and a second on the same car and position suggests that the common denominator is the car rather than the unit.
Has the car suffered any crash damage that might cause mal-alignment ??
It is most important that All the air is evacuated prior to refilling.

Thanks Geoff. To my knowledge the vehicle has not had any accident damage. As for air evacuation I can only rely on the professionalism of the workshop I sent the vehicle to for recharging, however, I will point out to them this time that it is critical to have the system fully evacuated. Thanks for the input.
