MG MGF Technical - Got it Back

Just got back from picking my car up after if had it's head gasket done. it cost £580 and the head was skimmed and he also did the Cam belt at the same time so i think this was a good price?
i have checked with him and he bled the coolent correctly. he said i should take it back in about 5oo mile to have the oil changed is this right? are there any other precautions is should take ( he allso said no to rev it to much for the first 1000 miles.
all in all as i had to spent the money i think i got a good job and i don't have to ride my push bike to work any more and see all the other MGF's go past me.

Sounds about right, I guess you got Mayo (hence the oil change) the 1000 mile 'go easy' is an unusual request, for the first couple of 100 miles you might be able to detect some smell, this is the gaskets getting warmed up for the first time and nothing to worry about.
