MG MGF Technical - Drivers airbag

Could any one advise a way of safely swapping steering wheels without disconnecting battery.I do not have the security code for the radio so if i disconnect battery i will have to get radio decoded.
K Marshall

I am fairly certain that the battery must be disconnected to prevent triggering the airbag.
You should go to your nearest MGR dealer with your V5 doc and they will give you the code while you wait.
My dealer did this for free but they did supply the car.

I may have wrongly assumed that your car is fitted with the standard MGR radio/cassette.

If your dealer cannot give you the code, then you can obtain it from the Manufacturers Serial Number. My Clio radio had only 3 of 4 Digits on my paperwork and the Renault database. It is best to get it otherwise you will need it next week when the battery dies on you.
