MG MGF Technical - Diesel Sound Revisited

When i first got the car (it had just had a service) i noticed that there was a real diesel type noise to it...but i did notice, the weekend before last but mainly this weekend that the noise seems to have gone.

People have said that they have noticed it before - Things that have changed since the noise stopped

- Got rid of that cheeky optimax stuff that doesnt do anything for your car and replaced it with 'normal' petrol

The air temperature has got warmer

The oil which was replaced has had 800 miles run in.

Would these things stop the noise?

Yes, the Diesil noise is the oil filling the hydralic tappets, after an oil change with oil flush the tappets drain out, they can take some time to refill correctly.
