MG MGB Technical - windshield wippers

Suddenly my windshield wippers stopped working.
I checked that the switch works using my voltameter
how would I check the wipper motor?
anything elts to check?

Pull the connector of the motor and see if there is power at any of the leads there. (when the switch is on). Check a wiring diagram to see what color is the main power in

If you can't figure it our you can always tie rubber straps to them and attach a string to pull them across the windscreen. The rubber straps will make them snap back into place. Then you call call yourself a "wipper snapper"!!

Had similar problem recently. Wiring is a pain. Basically, there is a hot lead to the wipers for on/off. There is another hot lead(always on), that makes the wipers park after you switch them on. The website below has an excellent explination of the wiring and should answer your questions.

Depends on the year and whether they are single-speed or two-speed as detailed on the web site mentioned by J Arthurs. Removing connectors to check voltage can be misleading, if there is a bad connection as opposed to a disconnection then a voltmeter may well see 12v but this can drop to zero when reconnected, so always measure voltages with everything connected and switched on.
