MG MGB Technical - What's this wire?

In my MGB GT '74.5 I switched to an electronic ignition. In hooking this up I found a white w/ black strip wire from the harness bundled with my alternator wires which I believe went to my old dizzy. It has a connector clip on it but cant find where this goes. Is this ground wire? Or...? Thanks.

White/black around the coil and distributor connects the coil +ve to the points and to the tach. Depending on what electronic ignition you have installed it may well have rendered the connection between the points and coil +ve superfluous i.e. as in the pertronix, but you will still need the wire from the tach to the coil +ve or the tach won't work.

Yeah I have this wire free since I installed the 123 distributor as well. Everything works so I'm leaving it as is.
Ross Kelly

As will I. Thanks, guys!
