MG MGB Technical - Trip meter
Hi all, I have a 81 MGB LE - great nick and only 16k on clock. Stupid question here, but my car does not seem to have a trip meter reset!! Where is it? Do they fall off or disappear or something? Thanks, Brian

Hi Brian. It is there, but it isn't visible !. If you reach under the dash by the speedo, you will find it. Don

Well, you might, but they do break off! On the older speedos you push the knob upwards and turn. Don't know if it's the same on later cars.

It's on a flexi shaft and to the left of the speedo and well under.

Both my 73 roadster (4") and 75 V8 (80mm) are just twist to reset, but the V8 is a lot further under the dash than the roadster, both 'below' the speedo.

Yes, they do break off. Fortunately you can buy a new one fairly cheaply.

On my 1974.5 mgb roadster, it's a twist knob under the speedometer. I actually have to turn it fairly hard to get the meter to reset. Jeremy
