MG MGB Technical - Tonneau Seam Sealer

Augh. Left the 'B out in the rain last night. While not perfect, the tonneau does a remarkable job of keeping the interior dry. The place it finally leaks is through the stitching at the steering wheel and headrests. Does anyone know of a sealant designed for seams like this?

Maybe some camping gear seam sealer as that is always an issue with tents and tarps. Some place like REI or the large local outdoor equipment store.

I picked up some seam sealer for a tent at a camping/outdoorsy store (may have been REI, but I don't remember for sure). Hadn't considered it for this application til you mentioned it, but it might be worth a try.

There's another product called "Seamgrip" that resembles clear silicone rubber but it tremendously more durable -- you can span a quarter-sized hole with it. That could be worth a try as well. If you're in the Raleigh area, Great Outdoor Provision Company sell it.

We have a Bass Pro Shop down here that's about the size of a small town. I'll check their tent and tarp section and see what I can come up with. Thanks to both for the great ideas.

Matt,
Go to K-Mart, or a camping store and buy some "Camp Dry", it's designed for sealing canvass. It comes in an aresol spray can and does a great job.
