MG MGB Technical - Ripped Anti Roll Bar Mount

I have managed to rip out the mount on one side and am about to get it plated/welded up.

Is it worth beefing this up by plating some thicker metal on, perhaps ‘U ‘ shaped round the chassis rail rather than trying to inset something to make it look right? I take it doing so will not upset any alignment/settings by only doing this side?

Cheers

In a word, yes.
I prefer to both flush repair and then reinforce with a square U-section. The transverse box section has to be worked around when using the U section.
And do both sides, if one has cracked up the other is likely at least fatigued, and repair is a lot easier while it is in one piece.

Right forum? Your vehicle profile shows a midget.

But basically 'yes' as well.

You also ask about alignment. Unless you get it massively out of line the MGB front ARB has little or no effect on alignment, but the factory rear bar does determine the fore and aft positioning of the rear axle, each side independently.
