MG MGB Technical - Rev counter type RV1 2430/01
The rev counter (tachometer) from my '72 B has type number RV1 2430/01 on the front face. I see that Moss only offer an RV1 2430/00 for this year. Is there a difference I need to be aware of should I need to replace my old one? |

Seem to remember the difference is in the orange/red line positions - 01 red lines @ 6300revs, But 00 red lines @ 6k. Is your tacho off a 1275 midget ? R. |

According to the Parts Catalogue RVI2430/00 is the correct one for an MGB from 68-72 in the UK, not the /01 suffix. I woudn't expect any issues in changing it. |

Richard, Thanks for the idea. My tacho does indeed have red at 6300 (orange at 5500). No idea of its origins. It's been with my car since at least 1997, as have I! I have receipts back to 1992 and the only instrument changes were speedo and oil gauge. |
