Oh yeah, this is important...

"Boosts Octane from 2–16 full points"

My only thought is that in about 30k miles, I haven't seen the need for such a thing. The octane boost might be nice, but if your car isn't pinging, you have enough octane content and any more is money wasted. Just my 2¢....

I'm running 10.5:1 and every little bit helps.

David,
No fair holding back information! I'm running a basically stock engine...
Rob Edwards

Yep, I should have mentioned that. I have an alloy head, though, so popular wisdom dictates that I have the same issues as a 9.5 cr engine. My timing is set on the ragged edge of pinging and I'd like to experiment a bit with this lead additive. I'm using a 25D distributor (vacuum disabled) which is giving about 23 degrees advance from 650 rpm to 3200 rpm. That's a bit high 'cause I think that it should advance only 20 degrees. BTW, Rob, the concert was great. We sat 4 rows back. You should have been there.

"Practically all the lead content is burned and deposited on the valves and valve seats, leaving the environment virtually lead free. "

So, after a few dozen treatments, ...?

What they didn't tell you is how dangerous that stuff is to handle. I have a few quarts of 'real' lead in my garage and after reading the OSHA sheet I left it there - for 15 years. That stuff is dangerous to use in its concentrated form and $$$$$$. Your engine will like you better if you stayed away from lead. Whle lead protects valves it also has a lot of other negative side effects. Use water injection if you have detonation problems.

... your valves are half-way down your cylinders ...
