MG MGB Technical - pertronix installation

Hi!
I am installing a pertronix on my 45dm distribuitor
(dizzy)
but i can not remove the original rotor.
has anyone done that?

how do i remove that part?

Thanks
Luis Rodriguez

Just pull it up - it may be stuck, so pull harder!

Why are you changing? The 45DM is a good and reliable unit, and the modules are still available. Not sure about the triggers though, although I've never heard of either failing, unlike the earlier 45DE electronics.

You will need to add a ground wire from the 'points' plate to the distributor body as the Pertronix needs a ground path (like points) whereas the 45DE and 45DM triggers didn't. This is a very flexible braided wire as the trigger plate is continually twisting under the effect of vacuum advance. Unless yours has been pinned in position, in which case you may still need a wire but it needn't be as flexible.
