MG MGB Technical - Oil Leak Under Steering Column

Oil is dripping form my steering wheel cowl on my 76 MGB. Anyone know what this might be, leaking oil gaige?
A Thompson

Yes, either from the oil guage - or brake or clutch fluid - if those reservoirs are on the driver's side in a US car.
Marc

Run a finer up the clutch and brake pedals to find any signs of fluid.
If they are dry then suspect the oil gauge.
Cheers, Pete.
Peter Thomas

Yes of course they would be on the driver's side. Where else would they be? Whoops!
Marc

When I had that problem a few years ago it was a loose line fitting on my oil pressure gauge. Clifton
Clifton Gordon

Second Clifton's experience on my '74. All I had to do was get behind the dash and tighten the flare nut fitting a little.

I have also had the leaking brake reservoir. That tended to run down the pedal and leave a slippery puddle on the floor mat rather than dripping off the column.
Matt Kulka

Thanks to all for the help. I feel pretty certain now that its the oil pressure gauge. The oil is running down from the front of the cowl under the steering wheel and on down to the pedals (and all over my foot!)
Thanks,
Al Thompson
