hello just had some track rod ends fitted but they grind on full lock what can i do
daren

What's grinding on what? I put a set of 14x6" Minotors on my 'B and the cotter pin for the track rod nut rubbed the inside of the rim. Might be as simple as adjusting the cotter pin. If it's the body of the track rod, would you be able to use a 1/8" spacer to get the clearance? Otherwise, you'll have to track down a set of the smaller bodied ones.

Good luck.

i think something is grinding on the wheel thanks daren

Well, I's suggest pulling the wheel and taking a look. If something's grinding or rubbing on the wheel you'll see some sort of evidence. Were the track rodends the only change? Did you install them yourslf? If you paid someone to do it, they should correct the problem for free, unless you supplied the parts too.

Might be the balance weights grinding the new TREs and slightly longer? I had this problem on my midget and ended up moving the weights in slightly to resolve.

You have special rod ends for some alloys. Try the archives for details.

hello had both the wheels off ,theres no damage to the wheels .the wheels run free in both lock positions when jacked up.would there be a difference if the car is not jacked up.im wondering if the tyers are catching some where as there 185 tyers thanks
daren

Not all TREs are the same size and that may cause the problem you described. The only solution would be to order new TREs and see which is the smallest.

It could also be your front sway bar out of position which happened to me. I repositioned the sway bar and it cured the problem.

Darren,

There are two sizes of Track rod ends, you need the smaller size , get in touch with MGOC and get the correct size !
