MG MGB Technical - MGB Mechanic in Antelope Valley, CA?

Kind of a two parter here.
I installed a new pertronix dizzy and coil a few months ago and the car has been runing good till a few weeks ago. Since I really don't drive it in the winter I always start it up at least once a week. Well, 2 wks ago it wouldn't start. I charged the battery and checked all connection, etc and nothing had changed from when it was running. But it cranks and won't start. I'm stumped. I started checking the fuses, connections, etc and noticed rt side signal/side lgts off, replaced fuse and they are back. Now the brake lights and flashers and turn signals don't work. Any relation to the starting problem? I read over all the archives and tried most of the solutions but...
Since I'm not keen messing with electronics and all (plus I'm a bit frusted and don't have the time needed to fix this-smog test due in 1 month as well) I am wanting to know if anyone knows a good MGB mechanic in the Antelope Valley (Lancaster-Palmdale, Rosamond), CA area. That might be able to get my "B" back on the road so I can get it smogged ASAP (I really like doing all the work on my "B" myself but this is an instant where time won't allow me).

Joe,

Are you still getting spark at the plugs? You can pull one out, hook the wire to it,hold it to the block and crank to check.

A coil change is an easy check here.

Pertronix units can fry with polarity changes (the charging of the battery?) and coils have to be matched to the pertonix or slow death for the coil. Autozone has cheap rebuilt distributors or you might borrow one to get it through smog.

If you do have spark check for fuel next.

A 12v trouble light helps for tracking down where you're losing volts.

Hope this helps, I don't think we have any members current in AVH area, keep us posted here or my email. We'll try to help.
