Hi Tony. There is a bullet connector at the front of the car that splits the blue / white wire from the dip switch to a blue / white to each headlamp, this connector sometimes gives trouble. Does your blue main beam warning light come on ?. Don |

hi don, the blue light does go on and off. |

Hi again. It sounds like the connector, assuming that both main beam filaments haven't blown. Don |

Tony, Make sure the wires on the foot dip switch have not been knocked off. It's easy to kick them loose and, easy to fix! Good luck. Paul |

Tony, Could also be the contacts in the foot switch. To test just pull the wires away from the foot switch (3) Use a short jumper wire with male spade terminals at either end and jumper from the "hot" lead into the other two (high and low beams). If the problem is in the switch you will have bypassed it...if the problem is elsewhere it will persist. Cliff |

Had exactly the same problem, switch to high beam and although the dash indicator comes on, the lights don't. In behind the dash, floating nowhere in particular in the loom is a bullet connector that connects your headlight main beam wire. This connector is in the middle of the wire and has come apart. In my case this conection was roughly in the space behind the speedo, but as mine is a RHD to LHD conversion this might be elsewhere for you. |

just had a quick look.Problem solved. as suggested by Don problem traced to rusty conection on a bullet connector where the wiring splits at the front of the car for the two lights. Thanks again guys |
