Does the headlight switch have three positions?

1.off 2.parking lights 3.headlights

Yep.

(...at least, for those cars that have the later-model
dash w/ rocker-type switches).

The switches can be picked up from www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk for a fiver a time (uk), much cheaper than the £20 each I was quoted by most MG places!

The site doesn't work in Firefox, but it's page 16 of the catalogue.

They always did. And it is a change to see someone quote the proper sequence instead of the usual 'dim, flicker and off'.
